John Boles Obituary

81, of St. Albans passed away, Friday, August 29, 2025 in Genesis Healthcare, Dunbar.

He was born on December 4, 1943, in Charleston, WV, to the late Mary and John A. Boles, Sr.

John grew up in Charleston and attended Charleston High School. He went on to attend Bluefield State, where he earned his Degree in Business Administration and later received a Master's degree from the University of Louisville. He worked for the State of West Virginia for over 40 years in the DHHR division, eventually retiring from their employment.

John was an active member of his community, as well as his Church, St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, in St. Albans, WV.

John enjoyed his life and loved his wife, Eppie, and made sure she was always smiling with him. His devotion was evident anytime they were together. He was devoted to his son and grandchildren, but most of all, he loved coaching and mentoring athletes to teach them techniques and skills, making them better at their sport.

John won many championships, medals, and honors, but always felt that the Kids were the most important part of the Team.

His mother-in-law survives John, Pearline Dalton of St. Albans, WV, his Brother Stephen, and Son John D. Boles (Brenda). Additionally, he leaves behind six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren, whom he loved deeply.

John is also preceded in death by his Brothers (Norman, Michael), sister (Suzan), Grandfather (Mose), Grandmother (Janie), and Aunt (Helen).

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 4, 2025, at St Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 821 B Street, St. Albans, with Rev. Jame Mosley, Rev. Andrew McDavid, and Rev. Willie Washington officiating.

Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans, alongside Eppie.

The Family will receive Friends from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm before the service at the church.
