John Smith Obituary

JOHN WESLEY "JAKE" SMITH, 67, of Charleston departed this life Saturday, January 10, 2026 at home.
He was born September 25, 1958 in Charleston, WV.
Jake served his country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Canaan United Methodist Church. He worked for Copley's Wrecker Service and a was forklift operator for XPO Logistics.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving spouse of 40 years, Jean Myers; son, Mac Myers, Jr. (Heather); grandson, Noah Myers; special friend, Kelly Tillis as well as a host of other family and friends.
Cremation has been observed and a celebration of life memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 22, 2026 at the Canaan United Methodist Church, Charleston with Pastor Bo Terrell officiating.
Family and friends will gather for a time of visitation one hour prior to the service at the church.

I grew up with Jake on Dunbar Ave. I haven't seen him in years but growing up I seen him almost everyday. He was such a good friend. Fly high my friend. I know your in God's hands
