Jonathan Everette Dunbar

JONATHAN EVERETTE DUNBAR, 41 of Winfield passed away Sunday April 21, 2024 at Hubbard Hospice House. He was A 2000 graduate of Winfield High School and served in the United States Marine Corps reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was a member of Scott Depot Christ Fellowship and Bridge Church. Jonathan worked as a field representative for Frazier Engineering in Denver, N.C., for 18 years. He was an avid outdoorsman with an adventurous spirit who loved fishing, skiing, mountain climbing and sky diving. His general love of nature and the outdoors led him to many places and many great people. Anyone that knew Jonathan knew him as a true friend with a compassionate heart. He had a honest love and dedication to his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everette Dunbar, Betty Dunbar and Barbara Beheler; great grandfather, Frank Beheler; great-uncle Gene Beheler; great-aunt Phyllis Beheler Meeks.
He is survived by his parents, Richard J. Dunbar and Susan F. Beheler Dunbar of Winfield; sister Leah Dunbar Surface; niece Reagan Surface and nephew Reuben Surface.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday April 27, 2024, at Bridge Church in Scott Depot with Dr. Rodney Taylor, Pastor Larry Hammett and Pastor Matt Davis officiating. Burial with military graveside honors will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery, Eleanor. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
