Justin Gordon Obituary
JUSTIN LYNN GORDON, 41, of Cross Lanes, passed away on May 27, 2019.
He loved working for Span 1 doing bridge inspections, was excited about learning new things and meeting people. When not working on the job, Justin always was there to help family anyway he could. He was hard working, gentle, kind, loving and a real blessing. Justin will forever be loved and missed beyond what we can express. He was saved at church camp at age 14.
Justin proudly served his country and retired from the U.S. Army Reserves, having served in Iraq.
Surviving him are his parents: mother and stepfather, Becky and Scotty Coffman of Cross Lanes; father and stepmother, John and Kathy Gordon of Winfield; his sisters: Melissa Calhoun of Ripley and Shannon Holsclaw of Georgetown, KY; brothers: Brian Gordon of Wake Forest NC, Travis Gordon of Hurricane, Scott Coffman of Hurricane, Tim Street of Hurricane and Nick Street of Wesley Chapel, FL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service for Justin will be 2 p.m. Friday at Chapman Funeral Home, Hurricane, with Pastor Jerry Losh officiating. Burial will follow in Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV.
Friends may visit an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Justin was a great guy I met back in high school. we had lots of fun, tons of laughs, was a great guy just to be around. He just could add a great warmth to the crowd. And to this day is a name and person I will never forget. I left Hurricane after high school and went out of state for work but wish I would have stayed a little longer. many of the ones I knew, I lost touch with because as we all got older our lives, jobs, and situations took us different places. But wish so much if I could, to just say hi to Justin one more time...but his memories will live on with me forever..and the ones he made with others, will also live on forever... And Justin, if you can hear this, you did bring a lot of happiness to folks. Thanks brother, for the love you gave us!

In 1997, Having been recently reassigned to the 38th OD GP in the Cross Lanes area, I met several young soldiers. Of them, I most remember Justin. He impressed me with his intelligence, genuine concern for others, and always had a great outlook on life. I am very sorry for the family's loss. I pray for the family's healing, you can never quite get over the loss, but return to the loving memories and continue to enjoy the life he brought to this world. He will not be forgotten.
