LORETTA KATHERYN SMITH, 83, of Charleston went to be with the Lord on Monday, February 17, 2025, at CAMC General Hospital.
Loretta worked at Verizon for 39 years, where she served in customer service. She enjoyed her job and the friends she made throughout the years. She loved the Lord and was a member of Elk Hills Presbyterian Church in Elk Hills. Loretta loved her family and friends as well as spending time with them, she will be missed by everyone that knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband Theodore Smith of St. Clairsville, OH; parents, George Gordon Keith III and Frances Adeline Brezack Keith of Beckley, WV; sister, Mary Frances Young; brother, George Gordan Keith IV; and niece Diane Lynn Young.
Loretta leaves behind her sister, Debby Chandler of Charleston, WV; brother-in-law, Gary Chandler; and brother-in-law, Gary Young; nephews, Joseph Chandler (Kim) of Conroe, TX; Scott Chandler (Alicia) of Charleston, WV; Gregory Chandler of Charleston, WV; and John Keith of Holly Springs, NC; nieces, Tiffany Jelovich of Raleigh, NC; Kathy Young Arner of Rockingham, NC; six great-nephews; and three great-nieces.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m., on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Cherrie Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV.
Visitation will be from 12 - 1 p.m., on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Hafer Funeral Home.
