Kyriacos "Jack" Loizou

KYRIACOS "JACK" LOIZOU, 88, of Charleston, WV, passed away November 27, 2025, after a long illness.
Born on November 8, 1937, in Famagusta, Cyprus, Jack grew up with the hopes and determination that later carried him across the world. As a young man, he journeyed to the United States in search of opportunity and a better life. In Charleston, West Virginia, he found not only a new home but also the fulfillment of the American dream building a family, a business, and a community rooted in hard work. It was here that he met and married his first wife, Donna Sue Wells, beginning the family that would forever be his greatest pride.
Jack established a successful career as a chef and became the co-owner of Sterling Restaurant. Through his love for food, he built a reputation for bringing people together around the table. Whether cooking for customers, catering celebrations, or preparing meals in his own kitchen, Jack used his gifts to nourish others. These passions extended to tending his fig trees, working in his garden, and enjoying a good card game simple pleasures that reminded him of home and symbolized the life he created through hard work.
Jack lived out his faith by feeding and welcoming others, embodying the idea that success is measured not only by what one builds, but by how one gives.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Sue Loizou, and his daughter, Andreana Loizou.
Jack is survived by his wife, Susan Loizou, his loving children, his brothers, and his cherished grandchildren and great grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Papou." His legacy lives on in them.
