Meaghan McGee Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of MEAGHAN AUTUMN LIN McGEE, also fondly known as "Red" and "Mea." Meaghan passed away at home on August 8, 2024, at the age of 26 in South Charleston, WV.
Meaghan joins her beloved parents, Mark and Terri McGee, for eternal rest in God's loving arms.
She is survived by her three children Daisee Rene, Ashton Michael and Scarlett Ann; her sister, Katherine (Matthew) Teis; three brothers James, Christopher, and Glenn McGee; her grandmother, Linda Melaragno; Auntie Autumn Petty; Aunt Toka Pearson; Grandpa Dayle Smith; and lifelong friend Macy Rene Brooks.
Meaghan had a vibrant spirit full of love, sharing her heart openly and freely with everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She once shared a quote that illustrates her confidence and sense of independence: "Shoutout to my dad for teaching me how to be a man even though I'm his daughter."
Meaghan's legacy is one of resilience, love, and indomitable spirit that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
She dimmed the stars in comparison.

"I love you so much and I´m so sorry for how we lived this life together. We´ll do it better on the next one."
Words can't even begin to explain the heaviness I feel knowing you're gone. I'm so grateful for the life we had together and all the love and memories you left me with. I'm lucky to have known you Mea and I will carry your memory with me for the rest of my days. Until next time, I'll see you later.

Mea was always the most generous person I had ever met even when she didn´t have much to offer herself. She would often give the shirt off her back, if it meant to help someone else. I love Mea dearly, & when I heard my heart had shattered. She´ll always be in my heart, & I´ll never forget her nor the lessons she has taught me. She had a laugh like no other, you´d know it was her in a room full of people. I love you Mea, I´ll never forget you, & I´ll keep your memory alive in my son, I know you loved him dearly.

My husband and I attend church with Grandpa Dayle Smith, and Meaghan often came with him. She was so friendly, vivacious and just plain gorgeous.
She seemed to really enjoy the church services and actively participated in worship and prayer. Our thoughts and prayers go out to her entire family, but especially Grandpa Dayle, who cared for and loved her dearly.
