Nancy Hudson Obituary

NANCY ELIZABETH KIRBY HUDSON 85, of Racine, WV went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 19, 2025, surrounded by family. Nancy was born on May 13, 1940, in Charleston, W, the daughter of the late Emory Kirby and Ina Tamplin Kirby. Nancy graduated from Sherman High School and attended Marshall University. She worked as a beautician and later as a cook with Boone County Schools for 17 years. Nancy was a dedicated Christian who loved the Lord. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Racine for over 75 years where she was active in women's ministries and sang in the choir. She loved to sing and be with her church family. Nancy was also a member of the Colonial Dames of America and Daughters of the American Revolution. Locally, she was a member of the Racine CEOS Club and enjoyed spending time with friends at the Racine Senior Center. Nancy was kind, friendly, and made everyone feel welcome. She will be sorely missed by her loving family and everyone who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her sister, Pat Kirby Leonard, and her devoted husband of 63 years, Patrick Lee Hudson whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by daughter Elizabeth Mucklow (Will) of Charleston, WV, son Scott Hudson (Elsie) of Racine; grandsons Caleb and Jonah Coffey of Racine; loving brother David Kirby (Marilyn) of Williamsburg, VA; a niece, nephews, a host of cousins, church family, friends, and her four-legged buddy, Angel Baby.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Services for the loving care she received, especially Melanie, Tiffany, Libby, and Pam. They were a blessing to all of us.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 27, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Racine in Racine, WV. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until time of service. Pastor Anthony Pratt will be officiating. Burial to follow at the Tamplin Family Cemetery.
