Nina "Pat" Cline

Nina Cline Obituary

NINA "PAT" CLINE, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on July 4, 1937, in West Virginia, Pat carried the warmth and resilience of her Appalachian roots throughout her life. For the past 20-plus years, she made her home in North Carolina, where her creativity and kindness continued to flourish.
She is survived by her devoted husband Jack, with whom she shared 69 years of love and partnership. She was a nurturing and steadfast mother to her daughter Loretta Smith and her son John, and a caring mother-in-law to Beverly. She adored her grandson Michael and welcomed his wife Kate with open arms, embracing her as part of the family.
Pat was Martha Stewart before Martha Stewart. She could paint, cook, sew, and transform the everyday into something extraordinary. Her talents were legendary especially in Sun Valley, where neighbors braced themselves each Halloween, knowing Pat's costumes would be over-the-top masterpieces that stole the show. Whether it was a hand-stitched outfit, a perfectly plated dish, or a lovingly painted canvas, Pat poured her heart into everything she created.
Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled grace, generosity, and the joy of making others feel special. She taught us that kindness is strength, that creativity is a gift, and that love when given freely and without condition is the most powerful force of all.
A private service will be held in her honor, with a celebration of life to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you perform an act of kindness in Pat's memory just as she did, every day.
For those wishing to reach out, Jack Cline can be contacted at [email protected].
Her light remains, steady and strong, in all of us.

I am so very sad to hear about Pat´s passing. She was such a positive influence in my life when I was teaching at Lakewood Elementary, not to mention a fun, creative person. We got to visit Pat and Jack some when our daughter lived in Raleigh and I lost touch with them when she moved to Charlotte. Please give our love to Jack and may God wrap you all in his comfort and love.
