I met Becky at Pt. Harmony Elementary in the 70s. She was an exceptionally talented, artistic and creative Kindergarten teacher. Her Halloween costumes were always entertaining and reflected her gift of creativity. She handmade jewelry, clothing and personally made me a violet poncho and a pair of violet earrings. She was an avid craftswoman and participated in many craft shows.
I still use Becky's recipe for cheesy potatoes, 7 layer salad and chocolate chip/Reese cup cookies. Becky was a jokester and participated in many pranks at school. One prank in particular involved a stuffed monkey anonymously being delivered to our principal's office. Not knowing who purchased the monkey or where the monkey came from, our principal did his best detective work to try to find the owner. A few days later after the drama of the incident died down, Becky and another coworker filled his office with bananas.
A former coworker called Becky a "ray of sunshine." Another one called her extremely confident, creative and funny. I personally introduced Becky to her husband, David, and the rest is history.
Rest in peace, Becky. May all of those who are mourning find peace and comfort in our Lord's loving arms.
