Richard Gush

1979 - 2024

Richard Gush, Richard Gush 45, of Hurricane, WV passed away in his home with his beloved wife, Summer by his side on July 31, 2024 after a courageous battle with colorectal cancer.

All who knew Richard were blessed to have experienced his love for life, his kind and giving heart, and amazing soul. Richard and Summer spent the last 23 years of their lives island-hopping, traveling the world, spoiling their beloved Dood Crew and spending time with their friends and family.

Richard was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; his beautiful mother: Betty Gush; father-in-law: Jackie Hartman; and nephew: Thomas Scott Bourne.

Richard is survived by his wife: Summer Gush; father: John Gush; brother: John Gush (Jennie); sister: Vicki White (Tom); along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews that love and miss Richard deeply.

Over the last seven years, Richard never lost his faith in God. He continued to live his life to the fullest, regardless of the challenges he endured. Our family is very appreciative for all of the support we've received from countless friends and family. We would like to extend a very special thank you to Debbie Bird from the CAMC Cancer Center.

Per Richard's request, there will be no public service. A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Richard loved animals and has requested in lieu of flowers that memorial donations are made to: Fix 'Em Clinic at 102 Dee Dr., Charleston, WV 25311; but most importantly Richard asked that you love your loved ones a little more and take the time to cherish moments with those who are special to you.
