Stephen Ward Obituary
Stephen was born December 16, 1950 in Elkins, WV a son of the late Robert Blair and Laura Joanne (Crawford) Ward.
Stephen was a graduate of Elkins High School. Following high school, he attended Potomac State University before obtaining a forestry degree from West Virginia University. Stephen worked for the U.S. Geological Survey out of the of the Morgantown and Charleston offices and would retire following 37 years of service. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Stephen is survived by his wife of 49 years Ada (Gould) Ward; daughters Stephanie Stewart (Joe) and Stacey McNemar; son Andrew "A.J." Ward (Kristi); grandchildren Megan Barnett, Kylie Stewart, Hunter Stewart, Bryce Ward, Alyssa Ward, Hailey Stewart and Kayla Stewart. He is also survived by a sister Diana "Dee Dee" Scott (Lennie).
A memorial visitation will be held Saturday, January 6th from 1-3 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Online memories and condolences may be sent to the family by visting www.waybrightfuneralhome.com.
