Trudy Karen Atkinson

TRUDY KAREN ATKINSON, 80, of Elkview passed away October 15, 2025. She was born May 21, 1945 to the late Betty Lee Jennings Wolfe and Elmer Jarrel Wolfe of Elkview. She was a life long member of Lucy Wilson Baptist Church, Wills Creek.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Orville Lee "Butch" Atkinson and brother, Jerry Roy Wolfe.
She is survived by her three children, daughters, Leah Christine "Crissy" Atkinson of Cross Lanes, Beth Ann Atkinson Morris of Jacksonville, NC, son, Mark Allen Atkinson (Tiffany) of Elkview. Seven grandchildren, Kara (Brandon) Shinalerry of Burnsville, Brooke Rhodes (Jim Bob) of Clendenin, WV; Mason Atkinson (Paris) and Summer Atkinson both of Elkview, WV; Joshua Morris and Shawn Morris of Jacksonville, NC and Matthew Shafer of Huntington, WV. She has eight great grandchildren; Brayden, Adrienine, Asher, Brelyn, Adyson, Kinzlee, Khloe, and another baby girl due to arrive in January 2026, sisters Pam Wolfe, Charlotte Holmes and Vicky Carte, sister in law Mary Elizabeth Atkinson Estep, all of Elkview and Brother Elmer Madison "Mack" Wolfe of Beckley, WV. She has many nieces, nephews and cousins all of whom love her very much.
She worked as a beautician for over 20 years, retiring to care for her elderly parents. Her greatest joy in life was her family she was completely devoted to.
The family would like to thank the physicians, nurses and hospital staff at CAMC Memorial Hospital for the wonderful care and concern shown to her during her extended hospital stay.
A special thank you goes out to Glasgow Hills nursing facility memory unit. Thank you for all the care, friendship and love shown to her during her during her stay there. Thank you for being "her friends" and for the amazing care and compassion provided to her and our family during her last days. Thank you for sitting with us, checking in on us and crying with us. We have been truly blessed by you all.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Hafer Funeral Home with Pastor Robbie Holmes officiating.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at Hafer Funeral Home.
