Buron "Randy" Reed

PRINCETON – Buron Randolph Reed, 92, of Princeton, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025. Born March 25, 1933, in Spanishburg, he was the son of the late William Preston Reed and Zena Bradshaw Reed. Buron served in the United States Army and National Guard Reserves during the Korean Conflict where he served as a Combat Construction Engineer and Drill Sargeant. He retired, after 30 years, from Norfolk and Southern Railroad. He loved to fish but, especially, enjoyed spending time with his family and talking about the Lord. His family now rests in the comfort of knowing Buron is in his eternal home with his Savior. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Sally Ferguson Reed; and brothers, William "Bill" Reed, and Richard Reed. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Terry Reed and wife Tina of Bluefield, VA, Danny Reed and wife Cindy of Princeton; and Kathy Collier and husband Bob of Load, Ky; brother, Gary Reed and wife Judy of Princeton; grandchildren, Vicky Pauley and husband Ben, Bobby Dee Collier II and wife Samantha, Daniel Reed, Robin Dowdy and husband Jerry, Adam Collier and wife Brooke, Vanessa Borak and husband Andy; Michelle Hager and husband Jay; Michael Collier and wife Tabitha, and Angela Manes and husband Gary; eleven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild on the way; and sisters-in-law, Nana Lou Reed, and Vi Reed. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Bailey-Kirk Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Andrew Maynor, officiating. The family will receive visitors from noon until the service hour. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Princeton. Military Honors will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard.
