Harold "James" Blevins

Harold "James" Blevins, 67 of Sandstone, went home to be with the Lord, November 1, 2025 at the Hilltop Center, Hilltop, WV following a long illness.

Born May 12, 1958 in Hinton, WV, James was the son of the late Floyd and Goldie Suttle Blevins of Jumping Brach, WV.

He was a very talented General Contractor, spending over 40 years building homes in southern WV. He enjoyed spending time with his family and spoiling his grandkids that he couldn't say no to. He was the friend and neighbor that was always there to lend a helping hand. He loved playing the guitar and singing and working on vehicles. He always had a positive attitude and a smile on his face. He has left a void in our hearts that only God can heal. We will miss him dearly.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Gaylen Blevins; sisters, Patricia Sisk, Shirley Plumley, and Juanita Young.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 43 years, Rhonda Fitzwater Blevins; daughter, Cori Cook (WB Cook); grandson, Gavin Cook; granddaughter, Jada Cook; sister, Virginia Wills, Judy Farley, Freida Graham (Mitchell), Mary Underwood, and Brenda Wood; many nephews and nieces and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2025 at the Grassy Meadows Gospel Lighthouse Church in Grassy Meadows with Pastor Butch LeGrand officiating. Burial will follow at the Gill Family Cemetery in Sandstone. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton. Friends may visit one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the Church.
