Inis Dales Boyd

Inis Dales Boyd, age 86, of Richlands, VA, passed away on September 28, 2025 in a Grundy, VA nursing home. Inis was born on March 9, 1939, in Grundy, VA, to the late Whetsel Dales and Edna Edwards Dales. She was a graduate of Grundy High School and a retired eligibility worker with social services. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Baptist Valley, VA. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willard Pierce "Bill" Boyd; grandson, Willard Pierce Boyd, II; sister, Lois McClanahan; and brother, Larry Lee Dales. Those left to cherish her memory are: Daughters: Susan Elswick and husband, Todd of Big Rock, VA Sandy Horne and husband, Gary of Cedar Bluff, VA Son, Robert Boyd and wife, Selena of Harrisonburg, VA Grandchildren: Jarod and Heather Looney, Grace and Richard Serna, Robert Pierce Boyd, Jeremiah Horne, Brittany Elswick, Tyler and Mary Looney, Casey Elswick, Jordan and Emily Elswick, and Anderson Elswick. Sister: Patricia Dales of Cedar Bluff, VA Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of family and friends. Funeral services for Inis Dales Boyd will be conducted on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 12:00 pm with the Evangelists Stanley Smith and Brian Mullins. Entombment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Claypool Hill, Virginia. Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews, and friends.
