Jackie Kellison Obituary

Jackie Lee Kellison, known affectionately as Jack, of Pearisburg passed away on October 18, 2025, at the age of 81 in Roanoke, Virginia, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on November 6, 1943, in Narrows, Virginia, Jack was a steadfast presence in his community, known for his enduring dedication to his family, his work, his community, and his volunteer service. Jack's life was rich with love and companionship, notably shared with his childhood sweetheart and wife of 59 years, Barbara McCroskey Kellison. Their enduring partnership was a testament to devotion, and together they raised a family that includes their sons, Chris and Todd Kellison (LaRhonda), and their daughter, Michele Kellison. Jack's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren, LaShae and Hannah Kellison, who will remember him for his wisdom and gentle spirit. Jack was a brother to Michael Kellison (Shirley) and held dear the memory of his siblings,Frank Kellison Jr, Charlie David Kellison, Robert "Foxy" Kellison, Evelyn Baker, Carrie Dickson, Ann Morris, and Kathleen Lambert, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his parents, Frank and Dema Wilburn Kellison, and sister-in-law, Charlotte Jean Havens Kellison. Jack leaves behind sister-in-law Anna Sue Kellison, as well as several other family members and close friends who will miss his warm presence and kind-hearted nature. A man of faith, Jack lived his Christian values through action. His career as an Instrumentation Tech with Radford Arsenal and Ammunition Plant spanned an impressive 40 years, during which time he earned the respect and admiration of his colleagues for his dedication and expertise. Jack's commitment to service extended beyond his professional life. He was a pillar of the Pearisburg Volunteer Fire Department, where he volunteered for 56 years. His unwavering sense of duty to his neighbors and his community was evident through his voluntary work with local schools and various community projects. Jack's love for sports, especially softball or anything related to Spartan sports, was paralleled by his daily walks around town, a routine that reflected his appreciation for community and physical well-being. Jack Kellison led a life marked by commitment, service, and love. His contributions to his community and the lives he touched will be remembered and celebrated by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Thursday, October 23, 2025 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in Riverview Baptist Church.
