Jerry Jenks Obituary
Jerry Orville Jenks, Jr., 53, of Paynesville, West Virginia, passed away on August 20, 2025.
Jerry was born in Welch, WV, July 26, 1972 a son of Jerry Orville Jenks Sr. and the late Vonnie Marie Jenks. Born with a giving spirit and a big heart, Jerry lived a life defined by hard work, selflessness, and love for his family. He was the kind of man who never hesitated to lend a hand, share what he had, or put others' needs before his own. Those who knew him will remember his generosity, his sense of humor, and his quiet strength that brought comfort to many.
Jerry also had a remarkable talent for masonry work, creating with his hands in a way that left lasting beauty for others to enjoy. His craftsmanship and dedication were admired by all who saw his work.
Above all, Jerry's greatest pride was his family. He leaves behind two daughters, Destiny (Jeremy) Jenks of Mooresville, NC, and Katie (Tommy) Jenks of Salisbury, NC; and three granddaughters, Katherine, Elena, and River, who brought him immense joy and filled his heart with love.
He is also survived by his father, Jerry Jenks of Hickory, NC; his sister, Teresa (Jason) Eggers of Hickory, NC; and his brother, William (Hope) Jenks of Randleman, NC. His nieces, Kara (Adam) Lingerfelt of Stanley, NC, and El and Willow Jenks of Randleman, NC; his nephew, Zach (Meredith) Campbell of Mooresville, NC; and great-nephews, Cameron Lingerfelt and Aiden Volk of Stanley, NC, and Ryan Campbell of Mooresville, NC will carry forward his memory with love and admiration. Additional survivors include, his friend and loving mother of his daughters, Jennifer (James) Underwood and her father, Ralph Button; of Salisbury, NC; special uncle and aunts Tommy and Deniece Jenks of Raysal; additional aunts, Linda Jenks of Sanford, NC formerly of Raysal and Bessie Hensley of Maryland; special friends Candy Lester, Gary Leasure, and David Lee; numerous special cousins and friends and his fur baby Tripp.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother, Vonnie Jenks; his beloved son, Joseph Hanson; a special friend Ricky Hagerman; his grandparents, William "Willie" and Allie Maggard, George and Mary Jenks and Andy Underwood; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 11 o'clock with Reverend Tommy Jenks and Reverend Charles Rose officiating at the Family Worship Center in Jolo, WV. Burial will follow in the Noah Stewart Cemetery on Keene Ridge Road at Paynesville, WV.
Friends may visit with the family after 6 o'clock, Sunday evening, August 24, 2025 at the Family Worship Center in Jolo.
