Ronnie Surber

Marion, VA Rodney Ferrall "Ronnie" Surber, Sr., age 68, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Francis Marion Manor in Marion, VA. Ronnie was born in Marion, VA, to the late William W. Harris and Louise Firestone Harris. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Blevins, and a grandson, Nicholas Gates. Ronnie worked as a truck driver for most of his life and was a lifetime member of the Atkins Fire Department and the Atkins Ruritan Club. He was deeply dedicated to the fire department and cherished time with his family, especially watching his grandsons race. Survivors include his children, Rodney Surber, Jr. and wife Kayla, Nikki Atkins and fiancé Tommy, Emily and her loving mother Keisha, Tabatha Jo Waddell, and Scotty Surber and wife Bebe; grandchildren, Braxton Surber, Kylie "Sissy" Surber, Colton Surber, Jayden Surber, Jeffery Gates, Raegan Atkins, Joyanna Atkins, Cali Surber, Cameron Surber, and Shiloh Waddell; great-grandchildren, Sylvie Waddell, Addalyn Gates, and Charlie Surber; siblings, Billy Harris and wife Shirley, Wayne Harris, and Tommy Blevins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, October 3, 2025, at Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Billy Guynn and Pastor Jeff Johnson officiating. Interment with Fireman's Honors rendered by the Atkins Fire Department will follow at Rosewood Memorial Gardens in Rural Retreat.
