Dorothy Vestal Obituary
Dorothy Faye Warren Vestal, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2022. She was born July 9, 1943, in Yadkin County to Thomas Ray and Lillian Hobson Warren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Ray Vestal and brother, Thomas F. Warren of Yadkinville. She is survived by daughters, Wanda Vestal Houlihan of Cocoa Beach, Florida and Connie Vestal Dorton of Tampa, Florida; son, William Ray Vestal of Yadkinville; and grandchildren, Kristen Houlihan of Tampa, Will Dorton, Lilly Dorton, and Zachary Dorton, all of Tampa. She was a graduate of Courtney High School and Draughon Business College. Dorothy enjoyed her retirement years living in North Carolina and Florida. Her joys were traveling with friends to many destinations and spending time with family. She attended both Courtney and Deep Creek Baptist Churches. The family will receive friends on Saturday, Oct. 22, beginning at 11 a.m. at Deep Creek Baptist Church. The memorial service will follow the visitation beginning at 12 p.m., officiated by the Reverend Chris Hauser. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Deep Creek Baptist Church, 2401 Old Stage Road, Yadkinville, NC 27055. Gentry Family Funeral Service of Yadkinville is serving the Vestal family. Wanda, William & Connie I was so sadden to hear of your Mothers passing. Dorothy was such a fine lady who loved her family dearly. We have had many wonderful times together over the years whether going to Ruritan functions, Community Center activities or church. We worked, laughed and play together and made many wonderful memories that I will always hold close to my heart. I remember the last time I had the pleasure of seeing her, it was on the Sunday before she went to her heavenly home. She, Lucille and I sat on the same pew together at church. She was always so kind to me and my family. Know that the days ahead will not be easy ones but know that the Lord is with you and can comfort you during this difficult time. Hold on to all the memories that you all have made and cherish them. We will continue to lift you all in our prayers.
