Nancy Fields Obituary
Nancy Jane Poindexter Fields, 57, passed away on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022. She was born in Yadkin County on April 3, 1965, to Lester Poindexter and Betty Salmons Poindexter. Nancy was a member of Franklinton Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and shopping. Nancy especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brandy Pilcher; maternal grandparents, Leonard and Flora Salmons; and paternal grandparents, Posie and Alice Poindexter. She is survived by her husband of 19 years, Billy Fields Jr.; children, Bradley Gray Pilcher (Brittany Leonard) and Brandon (Barbara) Ray Pilcher; stepsons Daniel Fields and Joshua Fields (Quintina Gulledge); grandchildren, Addison Pilcher, Brayden Pilcher, Kayden Williamson, Noah Fields, and Shianne Hutchens; mother, Betty Salmons; sisters, Debbie Collar (Joel Sweatman), Linda Hutchens, Ann (Roger) Hutchens, and Wanda (Mickey) Harrington; brothers, Tommy (Wadonna) Poindexter; mother and father-in-law, Billy and Carolyn Fields; sister-in-law, Michele (Jimmy) Burdette; and brother-in-law, Todd (Lisa) Fields. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 18, at Gentry Family Chapel in Yadkinville with Rev. David Averette officiating. Interment will follow at Gospel Way Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Collective Hospice, 914 Chapel Hill Rd, Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to say a special thank you to Nancy's friend, Shirley Turner, and Franklinton Baptist Church for the care and compassion shown to Nancy and her family. Billy, I was so sorry to hear of Nancy passing away. She was very sick for a long time and as hard as it is to lose someone you love, hopefully you can all find some peace in knowing that she is finally at peace and free of the suffering. God bless you and the family.

Nancy was such a sweet lady and a fighter, and she also knew her Lord and savior. I am praying for her family and hoping they find peace. Nancy is no longer suffering and she has for years. God is with you all!

My sissy was the most caring loving person I have ever known. She always put others before her. Her grand babies was everything to her. I was with her and Billy 8 years ago when she got the news about the cancer. She never let that slow her down. Billy I could not have asked for a better brother in law. The love you to shared doesn't happen often. She will always be my sissy. Miss her so much. The memories I have with her will never go away...love and miss you....Praying Billy and the boys will find peace to get them through these days ahead...love you all.

My precious cousin- you fought a long hard battle. You were a very strong woman. I seen you go through constant physical and emotional pain and it broke my heart. The pain is over now.
