Barbara Elaine Elkins

Barbara Elaine Elkins, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2025, at her home in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Born on August 25, 1936, in Rock Hill, Barbara lived a full and vibrant life marked by creativity, kindness, and a steadfast devotion to her family.

Born to John and Thelma West, Barbara grew up in a close-knit family alongside her brothers John, Roger, and Clyde (Joe) West, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Melvin Alexander Elkins, her cherished son, Tommy Hazel Elkins, and her great-grandson, Chase Alexander Elkins, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Barbara is survived by her sister, Phyllis Allen, who remained a loving and supportive part of her life.

Family was the heart of Barbara's world, and she poured her love into them every day. She is survived by her devoted daughter-in-law, Connie P. Elkins, and her two granddaughters, Amber R. Drawdy (Allen) and Tiffany Elkins Vance. Barbara found tremendous joy in her great-grandchildren- Bryson Drawdy, Jaidan Vance, and Jaxon Vance -who brought endless light and laughter into her life.

Barbara was a longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church of Rock Hill, where her faith provided her comfort, strength, and community throughout her life.

Barbara was not only a devoted family woman but also a gifted artisan and entrepreneur. She was the proud owner of B&P Ceramics, where her love for ceramics flourished. Her creativity shone through every piece she made, and her shop became a place where many people gathered to learn, create, and share in the joy of ceramic art.

In her free time, Barbara enjoyed the simple pleasures that reflected her vibrant spirit-chalking and coloring, tackling challenging puzzles, and expressing herself through her ceramics work. These activities were more than hobbies; they were extensions of her imagination, joy, and love for creating beauty in the world.

In honoring Barbara's memory, the family requests that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church of Rock Hill and Agape Hospice, two organizations that held a meaningful place in her life. A private service will be held in accordance with the family's wishes.

She will be remembered for the warmth she brought to every room, her love of creating beautiful things, and the deep, unshakable love she held for her family. As we celebrate her life, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her loved ones and watching over those she cherished. May her spirit forever guide us with the same gentle strength and love she shared throughout her life.
