John Lehman Obituary
John J. Lehman, Jr., of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on July 31, 2025, surrounded by the family who loved him dearly. Just six months earlier, he lost his beloved wife of 52 years, Lynn. Their devotion to each other was unwavering, and their legacy of love lives on through their children and grandchildren.
Born on May 25, 1952, in New Jersey, John was the son of the late John and Evelyn Lehman. He attended South Plainfield High School and worked as a warehouse manager for Ivax Industries. In 1989, he moved his family to Rock Hill as part of his career decision that marked the beginning of a rich and full life in South Carolina.
John had a deep love for rock music, classic cars, and baseball, especially the New York Mets. He spent many years coaching his children in baseball and church league softball and took great pride in supporting his grandsons at their sporting events, from football fields to baseball diamonds.
He is survived by his five children: Amy (Carl) Webb, Jessica (Jason) Curtis, Melissa Lehman, Courtney (Brent) Durling, and Gary (Emily) Lehman.
He was the proud PopPop of eight grandsons: Hunter (Sarina) Webb, Jonathon Webb, Spencer Curtis, Bryson Curtis, Zachary Curtis, Henry Lehman, Logan Durling, Andrew Lehman, and Jacob Lehman, and the delighted great-grandfather of Oliver Webb. He also leaves behind his bonus grands: James Scruggs, Jordan Roberts, and Brantlee Huddleston.
John is also survived by his siblings Dorothy Fleishman, Denise Lehman, and Steve Lehman as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sisters Ruth Telatnik and Jo Ann Lehman.
A drop-in memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 24, 2025, from 2:00 to 3:30 PM at Greene Funeral Home's Northwest Chapel in Rock Hill, SC. Friends and family are welcome to come and share memories in celebration of John and Lynn's lives.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to PruittCares Foundation or to another hospice organization of your choice in John's name.
John will be remembered for his quiet strength, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication to his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he shaped and the love he gave so freely.
