William Meyer Obituary

William Meyer Jr., of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on June 18, 1947, in Meriden, Connecticut, he was the beloved son of William Henry Meyer Sr. and Erna Silinski Meyer.

William, often affectionately known as "Bill, Will, or Billy" was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Kurt Meyer, his mother and father-in-law Anne and Charles Dziadyk and his sister-in-law Carol Borkowski. He leaves behind a loving family that includes his devoted wife, Shirley (Dziadyk) Meyer; his son, Scott Meyer (Erica Meyer daughter in law) of New Market, Maryland; his daughter, Jessica Meyer of Rock Hill, SC; and his cherished grandchildren, Trinity Meyer, Bryce and Blake Meyer, and Sebastian Seger. With a small, close, family he also leaves behind his sister-in-law Teri Meyer, brother-in-law Richard Borkowski (and Dorie), brother and sister-in-law Michael and Jennifer Dziadyk. Along with his nieces and nephew and their growing families: Allison and Stephen Nelson, Amy and Bryan Edwards, and James Santilli.

Bill was a passionate man with a wide array of interests. He was an active member of the Meriden Rod & Gun Club, the Elks Club, and the National Association for Surface Finishing, where he made lasting friendships and contributed to his community. His love for the outdoors was evident in his hobbies, which included woodworking, trout fishing, pheasant hunting, riding the waves at Myrtle Beach and working on cars (especially his 1978 Corvette). He was Mr. Fix-it and was able to use those skills to help with all his family's cars and homes. He loved playing football growing up, watching his Cowboys, and cheering on his Yankees. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, often spending weekends on the water or in the woods, crafting beautiful pieces of furniture, watching/coaching youth sports and sharing stories at the dinner table.

Above all, Bill was a devoted family man who adored spending time with his children and grandchildren. He took immense pride in their accomplishments and treasured every moment they shared together. Whether it was coaching youth sports, teaching his children/grandchildren how to fish or cheering them on at their various activities, his love for them was boundless and unwavering.

Bill's warm spirit and genuine kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He had a knack for making those around him feel valued and loved, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a heartfelt story. His laughter and joy for life will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family and friends.

A memorial service is being planned to honor Bill's life on Oct 18 th at 3:00pm at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 2370 West Main St., Rock Hill, SC. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to local charities in his memory, reflecting his generous heart and commitment to giving back to the communities he has cherished; https://www.epiphany-rockhill.org, https://www.hospicecommunitycare.org/give-back, or a local charity of your choice in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease.

Bill Meyer will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend-a man who lived life to the fullest and left a profound legacy of love and kindness. May he rest in peace.

Will always remember, Bill, graduated Platt high school with him and then later in life reunited as my nephew played sports with his son Scott in Betlin.

I learn of Bill´s passing with sadness. Bill was a friend and a co-worker. After reading his obituary, it references the man I knew. A great friend, that will be sadly missed. His dedication to his family unparalleled and the same for his contribution to the metal finishing world.
Rest in peace my friend!
