Albert M. Bentz, 89, died Thursday, April 1, 2004. He was the husband of 69 years of Margaret I. (Quickel) Bentz. Mr. Bentz was a lifetime farmer. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, the church council and the choir. He was a life member of the York County Farmers Union and a member of the York County Soil Conservation Society (ASCS) and the Thomasville Fire Department. Born January 24, 1915 in Washington Twp., York County, he was a son of the late Charles and Mazzie (Hinkle) Bentz. He is also survived by three daughters, Marilyn Snyder of Thomasville, Karen Calandrelle of Hagerstown, Md. and Linda Bentz of Clinton, NJ; four grandchildren, Vanessa Williams, Jeff Snyder, Lori Smyser and Kevin Laughman; 11 great-grandchildren, Stacy, Kyle and Drew Williams, Nicholas, Victoria, Krystalyn, Mathias and Colette Smyser, Kelly Jo, Kent and Kevin Laughman, Jr.; two great-greatgrandchildren, Micaela and Quinton Williams; four sisters, Mary Strausbaugh of W. Covena, Calif., Nettie Rumsey of Mt. Wolf, May Ahrens and Bertha Reeber both of York. Mr. Bentz was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Norman Bentz. Viewings will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, Inc., 2114 W. Market St., York and 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road. The funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2004 at the church with the Revs. Paul W. and Sara A. Gausmann officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul (Wolfs) Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, 250 Trinity Road, York, PA 17404.
