Albert F. Vagnozzi, 70, passed away Saturday, April 1, 2017 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Elaine B. (Pittman) Vagnozzi to whom he was married 50 years.
A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Viewings will be held on Friday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home and Saturday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.
Born August 12, 1946 in New Kensington, Albert was a son of the late Fernando and Tecla (Mussoni) Vagnozzi. He worked as a supervisor at Johnson Controls for over 25 years until his retirement in 2012. Albert enjoyed target shooting, going to the movies and eating out, especially for breakfast. He treasured the time he spent with his family as the most valuable, especially his grandchildren, surprising them with dropping off pizza or an early morning visit.
Mr. Vagnozzi served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his wife, Elaine, Mr. Vagnozzi is survived by a son, Allen Vagnozzi and his wife, Danielle of York; a daughter, Christina Highsmith and her husband, Brian of York; three grandchildren, Colton Kubicki, Brielle Highsmith and Nasira Highsmith; a brother, Fred Vagnozzi and his wife, Barbara of Natrona Heights; two sisters, Mara Semprevivo and her husband Ken, of New Kensington and Cyndi Kleiner of Curtisville; a father-in-law, Stanley Pittman of Saxonburg; a sister-in-law, Geneva Cale and her husband, Richard of Sarver; and three brothers-in-law, Stanley Pittman, Jr. and his wife, Dottie of Pittsburgh, Dennis Pittman and his wife, Jeanine of Beaver, and Burl Pittman and his wife, Barb of Moon Twp. Along with his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alberto and Dominica Vagnozzi; and his mother-in-law, Geneva Pittman.
