Bruce Goyt was a friend of alot of students. He will be greatly missed. He was one of my teachers and my track coach. I ran track for one year and was manager the second year. One of the best things I will remember him by is the time when we went to the state track meet.

I wish you could read the comments that have been written on Facebook about Mr. Goyt by his former students. A few representative comments: favorite teacher ever, I loved Mr. Goyt, loved his class, kind, funny, I loved the mapwork. My personal memory of him is that he made me feel safe during a tricky season of life. I loved being in his classroom. I confess that I don't remember much of the actual lessons (it was the 79/80 school year, after all!), but I remember *him*. His laugh, his kindness. Now that I've read more about him as a person, I know the source of his character - and it warms my heart. I'm looking forward to seeing him again. :-)

Mr. Goyt was my favorite teacher in YSJH. He made more of an impact on me than he would ever know. I loved his perspectives on Geography and his unfailing sense of humor. In part, it is because of him I majored in Geography at Penn State and have become a career professional in Geographic Information Systems. Thank you, my mentor. God's blessings to your family and may you rest in peace.

I love your parents and counted them as my spiritual friends and my inspiration in serving the Lord with all your heart! I have your Mom's beach scene she painted in my home, and my daughter Julie has your Dad's large picture of a daffodil in her home. I love to hear him laugh and tell me about his life, I was thankful to take him, my Dad and Giz to see the WW11 memorial and to find out his favorite book of the Bible was Acts... and that's how he lived his life... outward focused on others to know His Lord and Savior... My prayers are with you all and your adjustments.

It has been a pleasure to know Bruce for the short time we knew him and are sorry that we didn't get to know him better. Our experience was he was a true man of God and lived his life as such. We pray his influence with his family brought many to know the Lord as well. God bless you all and give you strength in knowing that he is now where he wanted to be - with the Lord.

Loved Mr. Goyt! I am grateful for him inspiring me to become a professional geographer. The Goyt's lived around the corner in Haines Acres and I always thought his green and white VW bus was so cool! Lots of great memories of him as he was one of our best teachers. Sympathies from the Ware's, formerly of York. Thank you, Mr. Goyt.

Bruce was someone I've admired since I have known him. He was a true gentleman, steadfast in his beliefs, faithful to the end in every way. And I loved his sense of humor and how he even made fun of himself. I miss him already!

I had the honor and privilege to be Bruce's guardian on two Honor Bus tours to Washington D.C. He was such a kind and considerate man. While he will be deeply mourned, what a joy to know that some day we will be reunited. I extend my sympathy to his family.

We will miss you "our" friend of many years. Sam and I shared many wonderful times with you. Only your faith surpassed the love you had for our country. You proudly served and we shared those memories with us. The respect shown to you at the airshow in Reading by the pilots and children blessed us greatly. We will miss you but know we will be together again. Sam and Bev Leiphart
