Carl Whyte Obituary

YORK Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord; that they may rest from their la bors; and their works do follow them. Pastor Carl Colburn Whyte, 85, entered into rest Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at home with his family. He was the husband of Norman Jean (Hopkins) Whyte. Pastor Whyte was born in Harford Co., Md., to the late George E. and Erma K. (Williams) Whyte on May 3, 1924. He was the pastor of Wheatfield Church of the Living God for 32 years. He enjoyed preaching and teaching God's Word, fishing, hunting and singing. Pastor Whyte was a veteran of the United States Army. Pastor Whyte leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted wife; one son, Alan W. Moulden of Columbia; one daughter, Natosha L. (Moulden) Montgomery of New Castle, Del.; one stepdaughter, Ruth G. Washington of York; three brothers, Bill Whyte of Pottstown, Lawrence Whyte of Quarryville, and Jerry Whyte of Lancaster; four sisters, Mary Odoms of York, Kay McClaine and Ginny Moulden, both of Delaware, Betty Walls of Avandale; 20 grandchildren; over 70 greatgrandchildren; over 100 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Pastor Whyte was preceded in death by five brothers, Jack, Ned, Dudley, George and Hamilton Whyte; and two sisters, Celestine Bell and Nancy Riggings. Viewings for Pastor Whyte will be Monday at Wheatfield CLG, York from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Bible Tabernacle Church, 361 S. Pine St., York, Pa. 17403. Celebration of Life Service will start at 11 a.m. at Bible Tabernacle Church with Pastor Ramona Kinard, eulogist. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Thursday with full military rites given by the National Honorguard. Norma Jean and family Ruthie Sis and especially Yvonne. For the last few days iv'e been thinking bout your loss and what a loss it is. Such a special person that has left and impression on so many people probably more than you know. I remember the last time i saw him he hugged me and kissed me on the cheek and told me he loved me and i know he did as much as i loved him and Bonnie my old friend I know how much you loved him and he you and we both know he is in a better place.

I know that Pastor Whyte is enjoying his conversation in Heaven with those who have gone on before. I thank God for all the support and love from all that have expressed their prayers and concerns. Our family and Church Family are all the more stronger.
We Loved our Pastor and I know he is smiling on us and he is rejoicing. Now it is our time and he has taught us well; to be steadfast and unmoveable always abounding in the work of the Lord.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
