Christopher Kress Obituary
York - Christopher Robert Kress, 45, died June 28, 2018 in York, Pennsylvania.
He was struck by an automobile while riding his bicycle on the Heritage Rail Trail on his way home from work.
He was married to Miranda (Silic) Kress, and they were in their twenty-third year of marriage. They have one daughter, ElizabethAnne Kress.
Chris was a devoted husband, father, and friend. He is now in Paradise with their other two children who died before birth.
Chris was born May 26, 1973 in Loch Haven, PA, the son of John R. Kress of Spring Grove, PA and Bernita (Milusazusky) Czerpak of Lansdale, PA. A stepmother Vicki (Hoffman) Kopchinski resides in Dover, PA.
Chris worked as a software engineer with Wellspan's Enterprise Integration group starting in January 2000. He attended Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene in York, where he was a soccer coach. He was also an avid volleyball player in York leagues, and enjoyed detailed Bible study and practicing his guitar daily.
Services will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 in York at Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane. Visitation with the family begins at 10:00; the funeral service will be at 11:00; and a lunch reception will follow.
Along with his wife, daughter, and parents, Chris is also survived by a half-brother Jordan Kress of York, PA, paternal grandmother Janet Kress
of Spring Grove, PA, and maternal grandmother Lillian Milusazusky of Clarks Summit, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations for a long stem rose garden plot (provisionally to be located at the site of the accident) may be sent to Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene, 400 Stillmeadow Lane, York, PA, 17404. You must designate your donation as "Chris Kress Memorial Fund".

i very recently discovered the Memorial for Chris at King's Mill Road/Jessop Place. I would very much like to find the prayers etched into the stones at the Memorial. Is it available anywhere? Since I am intent on walking, I just sorta' skimmed the prayer but I was struck by how approprite a prayer it is for all of us at this pandemic time.

Miranda, I am very sorry for your loss. My prayers is that the Almighty God will continue to give you the courage to bear this great loss. Chris was a very sweet person and would be greatly missed by those who knew him. I am praying for your daughter, knowing how close she is with her dad.

I'm so sorry for your loss! It's a loss for all of us! Chris was my girls' soccer coach, and I also played on the volleyball team with him. It was a pleasure to interact with him in both sports good coach and good teammate! His encouraging spirit will be missed. What a Great Loss for this very wonderful man. He will be so very missed. The picture in my mind will never go away seeing him and sometimes Elizabeth, walking their 3 dogs. So very helpful and kind and My sympathies go out to his family.
