Daniel E. Lehr
Dallastown
Daniel E. "Danny" Lehr, 71, entered into rest on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia I. (Bell) Lehr for 44 years.
He was born July 2, 1944, in York, son of the late William and Miriam (Furst) Lehr.
Daniel attended American River College in California, and worked as a material handler for various companies in the York area. He was a sports official for 30 years, officiating basketball, football, softball and baseball. His previous work also included a position as Athletic Director for Kennard Dale High School.
Daniel was a member of St. Joseph Church in Dallastown as well as the PIAA and ASA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and loyal friend. Many knew him for his quick wit and love of music, the beach, and all things food. He was a sports enthusiast in all forms from athlete to official to spectator. He was a lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers.
A viewing will be held 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the John W. Keffer Funeral Home, 902 Mt. Rose Ave., York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 251 E. Main St., Dallastown. Burial will follow at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
Including his wife Patricia, Daniel is also survived by three children, Amy Lehr Miller of Dallastown, Kathleen Lehr Sheerer and husband Zachary of Hanover, and Daniel E. Lehr and wife Allison of West York; four grandchildren, Isaac and Blaine Sheerer and Isabella and Gwendolyn Lehr; and three siblings, Debra Zearfoss of East Berlin, David Lehr of Mt. Wolf and Peter Lehr of Red Lion. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Robert Lehr, William Lehr, Jr. and Donald Lehr.

His jokes might have made me cringe at times, but I always laughed because Dan never failed to make himself laugh, even if it was a bad joke!
