Darren Hoffman Obituary
Red Lion - Darren W. Hoffman, 50, passed away on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at his residence.
He was the husband of Shannon M. (Gay) Hoffman, sharing 30 ½ years together.
Darren was born in York on November 18, 1970. He was raised by his mother and step-father, Elona M. (Wolfe) Linnemans and William J. Linnemans of Hellam. His father, Raymond W. Hoffman, preceded him in death when he was a child.
Darren graduated from York Vo-Tech. He worked at the York County Prison and was also the Master of Plaster. He was a member of the Elks Club and Yorkana Fish & Game. He liked to fish and took part in Bass Fishing Tournaments. Darren loved spending time with his family, he enjoyed anything country, his rescue dogs, and the simple things in life.
In addition to his wife, mother, and step father, Darren is survived by his son, Brett Rizzio; three grandchildren, Zayden, Nevaeh, and Arabella; sister, Richelle Schroyer and her husband, Ronald; brother, Dustin Hoffman and his wife, Dawn; mother in law, Elaine Gay; two nieces; two nephews; uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Hoffman.
Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, July 30, 2021 at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 E. Market St., York, with the Rev. Kelly Shiflett officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Castaway Critters, P.O. Box 1421, Harrisburg, PA 17105 or to 2nd Chance 4 Life Rescue, PO Box 549, Elizabethtown, PA 17022.

I´m so sorry for your loss. I didn´t get to know Dustin very well but I thought of him often. My brother Raymond, nephew Doug and now Darrin all passed too young. I lost Darrins uncle Mike at an early age and uncle Brad passed on the same day. Prayers to your family.

I knew Darren from day one when he began working at YCP. Always a great person to have a conversation with, hard worker and honored to call him a friend. If I needed something fixed, you can bet Darren would get it fixed and any request I had for him he always did the best job and did not waste a minute accomplishing any task. All around Darren was just one of those good guys that you could always sit down and have a great conversation with. RIP my friend, your shift is over and may God bless you with His love. Until we meet again.

I knew Darren growing up in Hallam; our families spent a lot of time together! Several years ago I called on him to repair my plastered, swirled ceiling and wall; he was indeed a Master Plasterer, and a great guy, as well!
