Donald Resh Obituary

Donald W. Resh YORK Donald W. Resh, 80, died Friday, January 23, 2004, at Rest Haven-York following a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Cynthia M. (Wentz) Resh, who died August 23, 1999. Mr. Resh was born September 6, 1923, in Hanover, the only son of the late Paul V. and Alta C. Resh. He graduated from Hanover High School in 1941 and Indiana Institute of Technology, Fort Wayne, Ind. in 1948. He served with the U.S. Navy Seabees during World War II. He worked as a professional engineer and registered surveyor for over 40 years with C.S. Davidson Inc. before retiring. He was a past member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover Chapter 669 AAPR, Elks Lodge 763 and Hanover Historical Society. He served 17 years on Hanover Borough Council, serving as president before retiring. Mr. Resh is survived by two sons, Richard G. Resh of York and Gregory J. Resh of Red Lion; and five granddaughters. Memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Thursday at Trinity United Church of Christ. Cremation Society of Pennsylvania is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 116 York St., Hanover, PA 17331.
