Eileen Yoquinto Obituary
CLIFTON PARK, NY Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, godmother, and friend, Eileen Elizabeth Yoquinto, 80, passed away on Monday, October 3, 2011. Daughter of the late Grace Mooney and Eugene McDonald, she was born on September 20, 1931, in Brooklyn, N.Y. The eldest of 10 children, Eileen was reared and lived most of her adult life in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Gerritsen Beach. She graced Clifton Park, N.Y., with her presence for the past 10 years. On May 9, 1953, she married Bill Yoquinto, who predeceased her. She is survived by four children, William (Eileen Bryant) of Clifton Park, N.Y., Joseph (SueAnn) of New Freedom, Marianne Macaluso (Glenn) of Clifton Park, N.Y., and Frank (Katherine) of Elverson. She was predeceased by her son, Thomas (Jennifer), in 2007. Eileen was the cherished grandmother of Lucas, Elizabeth, Jonathan, William, Jason, Logan, Aisling ,and Niamh Yoquinto, and Sara and Paul Macaluso. She was the beloved sister of Adele (Robert) Brangan, James (Lois) McDonald, Eugene "Dan" (Beverly) McDonald, Frank (Rosemarie) McDonald, Thomas (Ann) McDonald, and Gerry McDonald, and was predeceased by brothers, Robert, William, and Paul McDonald. Eileen was all about family. She took great joy in every occasion with those she loved and her generous laughter was a delight to all who heard it. Eileen made friends easily and kept them well. Her loyalty was unsurpassed. She embodied a rare and wonderful combination of irreverence and dignity. Eileen was beautiful. Her family and friends were blessed by Eileen's great strength that allowed her to remain a vital part of their lives despite years of ill health. Her battles are now over and won, particularly in the hearts of those who will always know her. The family would like to thank the Rubin Dialysis Center in Clifton Park, where she received gentle care and had many friends. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at St. Edward The Confessor, 569 Clifton Park Center Road, Clifton Park, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Best Buddies New York", a charity important to Eileen, devoted to benefit people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, 251 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205.
