Erma Hess Obituary
Dallastown - Erma R. Hess, 85, of Dallastown, died on September 15, 2018 at Manor Care - Dallastown. She was the wife of the late Dale P. Hess, Sr. Born in York on October 13, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Charles N. Stough, Sr. and the late Anna M. (Miller) Stough.
She was a member of Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
Erma was a nurse at the Former York County Hospital for 23 years, and was a nurse at Apple Hill Surgical Center and York Hospital for 8 years until she retired.
She is survived by four children Judith Ann Elsesser of Seminole, FL, Kathy D. Bowser of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Pastor Gregg R. Keckler of Gardners, Todd L. Brenneman of York; three step sons Donald E. Brenneman of York, Barry A. Brenneman of York, Dale P. Hess, Jr. of Windsor; two sisters Shirley M. Senft of York, Susan J. Smallwood and a brother Donald N. Stough of York; 18 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Richard E. Myers and two brothers Clair J. and Dean F. Stough.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 1111 East Market Street, York. A viewing will be held from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery.

I had the privilege of visiting Erma for the past 3 or so years with her husband Dale . She was always such a sweetheart. Always a smile when I came in to visit. GOD Bless you and your family. You will be missed.

Todd, Kathy & Judy, I was saddened to hear that Aunt Erma passed. I pray that her children, siblings and grandchildren will be comforted knowing that she's watching over each of them with a loving eye. I remember all those trips to the 5 & Dime as a child to get candy & toys as she called me Jakey. I remember the strawberrys she brought over after work to Grandma Stough's for me to eat. But, more importantly, I remember an outspoken & loving woman who was all about family. I hope you're reunited with loved ones & friends lost before. I will hold those lasting memories forever.
