York New Salem - Ethel A. (Hawk) Warner, age 78, of York New Salem, passed away unexpectedly at York Hospital on Saturday July 10, 2021.

Ethel was born in Saylorsburg PA on April 18, 1943 and was the daughter of the late Raymond Hawk and Violet (Gehris) Hawk. She graduated from Pleasant Valley High School and earned her teaching degree from East Stroudsburg University. She was a teacher at Paradise Elementary School and Thomasville Elementary School for many years prior to retiring. After retiring she continued to contribute to the betterment of Paradise Elementary School by substitute teaching and volunteering her time. She was a dedicated member of Paradise Holtzschwamm E.C.C. in Thomasville.

Ethel is survived by her son John L. Warner and his wife Whitney of Waynesboro and her step-daughter Kelly Warner of York; her grandchildren John Michael, Malakai and Kipling. She is also survived by her bother Leroy; her sister Fern (Bob) Boyce and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Marvin (Alycia) Hawk and her sister Marion (John) Davis.

Following cremation, services and interment are being held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Paradise Holtzschwamm ECC, 6777 Lincoln Hwy, Thomasville, PA 17364.

John, I am sorry to read of the passing of your mother. I will always smile remembering how you and your circle would gather at your house and how tolerant your mother was of the antics you boys would pull, she was a great mother! Love and light to you and yours during this sad time, may the many memories bring you comfort.
