Eugene T. Devoe

FELTON Eugene T. "Tom" Devoe, 67, passed away Friday, November 11, 2011, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Joyce A. (Fitch) Devoe, to whom he was married 46 years. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Life Tributes by Olewiler and Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion, with Certified Celebrant Betty Frey officiating. Viewings will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held in Chanceford Church Cemetery in Airville following the service. Mr. Devoe was born on March 31, 1944, in Pylesville. He was a son of the late Otho Devoe and Pauline E. Duncan. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Charles and the late Lucille McCallister. Mr. Devoe worked as a machinist at General Dynamics in Red Lion for over 40 years until his retirement. Mr. Devoe was an avid hunter and enjoyed camping with his wife at Tucquan Park Campground. His family was very important to him, as was his beloved dog, Rocky. In addition to his wife and his uncle, Mr. Devoe is survived by a son, Wayne T. Devoe and wife, Audra of Dallastown; a daughter, Robin D. Smith and husband, Keith of Red Lion; two grandchildren, Austin and Corey Smith; and a cousin, Betty Grove of Delta.
