Fred Glatfelter Obituary
Spring Grove
Fred E. Glatfelter, 79, passed away at home on August 21, 2016. He was the loving husband of the late Betty R. (Hotz) Glatfelter who passed away in 2013.
Fred was born in Spring Grove on November 14, 1936, to the late Jacob H. and Cora E. (Luckenbaugh) Glatfelter. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He worked as a machinist for Manley Valve of York until his retirement. He loved his dog "Flash" and enjoyed fishing and trips to the casino.
Fred is survived by his daughters, Debra A. Beck and husband Ronald of New Oxford and Deidre Glatfelter-Kress and husband Jake of Spring Grove. He was predeceased by his son, Fred E. Glatfelter, Jr. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua C. Beck, Amber K. Kress, and Daniel D. Glatfelter; and his great-grandchildren, Jayden Taughinbaugh and Fred J. Beck; and his sisters, Jean Paetow and Raye Markle. He was predeceased by his brothers, Lavere, Jacob, Rueben, John, Charles, Ervin, Harry, and Samuel; and his sisters, Rosella, Minerva, Mildred, Faye, Mary and Helen.
Services are being held privately by the family under the direction of Beck Funeral Home and Cremation Service Inc., of Spring Grove.
Contributions in his memory can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

We were so deeply saddened when we got the heart breaking news days after your passing away. We loved you like Family and we know you loved us like Family. We wish we would of been notified in a different manner other than the newspaper. We would of been at your memorial service but we had no way of being able to find out when it was & that truly breaks our hearts. May you soar in the heaven above as a guardian to all us of that you dearly love. We will forever cherish you.
