Iris Mummert Obituary
York
Iris M. Mummert, 91, entered into rest Tuesday March 21, 2017 at Manor Care North. She was the wife of the late Richard L. Mummert.
A visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Rd. The Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. at the church with Rev. Richard Owens, OFM Cap, as celebrant. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery. The John W. Keffer Funeral Homes and Crematory, Inc., East York, is assisting the family.
Mrs. Mummert was born January 12, 1926 in McSherrystown, a daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Annie E. (Leonard) Eline. She was a member of St. Joseph Church and had been employed at the office of George E. Gardner, MD and William C. Yohe, MD.
Iris is survived by a son, Richard A. Mummert and wife, Susan; two grandsons, Rich and Mike. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
Memorial contributions may be made to Manor Care North, 1770 Barley Rd, York, PA 17408-2223.

God be with you on your journey home Aunt Honey!! You were so classy, full of life and just beautiful!! I remember as a kid all the great parties at your house with Dick, Dicky, and all of the extended family members! You were also the greatest cook! I hope you are reunited with Dick, Susie, and all your siblings in Heaven. Dicky & Sue, I'm so sorry that you have lost such a fine Mother-the world will not be the same without her!

My god mother aunt Iris ....thank you for always taking good care of me at Doc's when i was sick or hurt... I will always remember the great party's you had around the holidays and Xmas growing up in the 60's at your house .. Say hi to everyone in heaven for me ..... Jimmy

"Iris the virus" as my Dad used to lovingly joke with her! She had GREAT vitality & loved to laugh. She had great empathy for others too. Hope she is having a wonderful reunion in heaven with not only her hubby but her Susie too. Rest In Peace Iris, I will never forget you!

The Mummerts were our neighbors since 1954. As a kid as I remember,her husband was into painting cars and tinkering with them. Iris was a very nice lady and also my nurse at Dr. Gardners.
