James W. Tome Jr.

THOMASVILLE James William Tome Jr. "Bill", 64, passed away at home on May 2, 2014. He was the loving husband of Wanda S. (Failor) Tome; together they shared over 14 years of marriage. Bill was born in York on November 6, 1949, and was the son of Gayle (Poe) Shank and her husband Charles "Bud". He graduated from Spring Grove High School class of 1969. He worked for York Wall Coverings Inc. for over 45 years. He was a member of NFC Cruisers, Spring Grove VFW Post and Hanover Eagles. He enjoyed car shows and cherished the time he spent with family and friends. In addition to his wife Wanda, he is survived by his daughter Reona Cassel and husband David of York; his son Shad Tome and his girlfriend Rachel of Orlando FL; his step son John Henninger of Fawn Grove; his step daughter April Henninger of York; his grandchildren Tanner, Tyler and Demarion. He is also survived by his brother Darryll Tome and wife Lorrie; his sister Judy Smith; his half-sisters Chanda Long and husband Karl and Wahnell Venable and husband Ronnie and eight nieces and nephews and 7seven great nieces and nephews. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 at 4 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service Inc., 175 N Main St., Spring Grove with Rev. Larry McConnell officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
