Jeannine Runkle Obituary

Jeannine R. Runkle, 75, formerly of York, died at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, 2005, at Seton Medical Center Coastside, Moss Beach, Calif. She was the wife of the late Roy S. Runkle. Born June 28, 1930, in York, she was raised by her grandparents, Jacob H. "Ducky" and Minnie Hoffman. Jeannine was secretary to her grandfather, Jacob H. Hoffman, Auctioneer and also had worked at Hoffman Grocery and Used Furniture. She was a life member of The Episcopal Church of Saint John The Baptist, York, and was a member of the Franklin Herd #1 Ladies Independent Order of Reindeer. Mrs. Runkle is survived by a son, Robert E. Runkle of Daly City, Calif.; two granddaughters; one great grandson; and a sister, Barbara Herman of Dover. She was preceded in death by a son, Roy S. Runkle, Jr. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 30, 2005, at Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc. (formerly Baumeister, Orcutt & Small), 863 South George Street, York, with her pastor, the Rev. David W. Lovelace, officiating. Viewings will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to The Episcopal Church of Saint John The Baptist, 140 North Beaver Street, York, PA 17403.

DEAR ROBERT, I AM SORRY TO HEAR OF YOUR MOTHER PASSING. I KNOW IT WAS A STRUGGLE FOR HER AND FOR YOU.
