Joan Munro, 81, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, November 2, 2016. Born August 23, 1935 in Syracuse, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Louise (Howlett) Hohl. Joan was the loving wife of John Munro for 61 years.
A dedicated homemaker, Joan was a beautician earlier in life, and also helped her husband John manage their apartment buildings. She earned an Associate's Degree from Liberty University in Biblical Studies. She attended East Side Bible Church in Wrightsville. Joan was the host of many Bible studies in her home. She was a member of the American Business Women's Association, and a very active member of the Christian Women's Club. Joan enjoyed singing and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband, Joan is survived by her children, Cindy Louise Munro and her husband, Brett Stevenson of Tampa, Fla.; Matthew Dennis Munro of Harrisburg; Heather Mavros and her husband, Nick of York; her grandchildren, Jessie Ros and her husband, Sam; Joseph Stevenson; and her two great-grandchildren, Elena and Lily Ros. She was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Matthew Jonathan Munro.
A funeral service for Joan will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Etzweiler Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, 700 Hellam Street, Wrightsville, with Pastor Randy Panebaker officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Wrightsville. A viewing for Joan will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Dear John, Cindy, Heather and Matt,
We are blessed beyond measure to have known Joan and have her in our family. She will always remain in our hearts as a beautiful Christian. Her Christian faith is a tremendous legacy for all of us.
