Connie and Family...My deepest sympathy to each of you. I just learned of Bud's passing through Irene Rauhauser as I have not lived in York for about 15 years. I worked with Bud at Maple Press from 1968 for about 19 years and truly felt like I had an extra father looking out for me. I was Leon's secretary for many years and worked closely with Bud. I was just a young thing and he watched over me and was just so very polite. He was a special man and I'm glad I knew him. May all your wonderful memories of Bud make you smile and lessen your sadness.

Bud was a true inspiration to us all. In my eyes he lived the American dream. Over many hours of conversation I saw the man that Bud truly was. He was a land owner, a husband, a father, grandfather, great grandfather, hard worker, and a very calm organized man. He set his goals in life and achieved every one of them and for that I respected and admired his life. Although I did not know Bud as long as I would have liked to he treated me like I was his own and I never felt more welcome in someones home. I don't think Bud could have asked for more out of life. He will be deeply missed.

Our family has lost one of the greatest men in the world. I loved my pa soooo much and I always will. I have so many happy memories with him from childhood until now. It was sad watching him go in and out of the hospital during his last couple of months. It was also sad watching at home not being able to do for himself anymore. He loved to be on the go, and I know he hated having pepole do everything for him. I loved him and when he died I was actually somewhat happy for him so he didn't have to suffer anymore. He is in a happier place now and at peace. I love you pa and I always will. You will always be in my heart.

Dear Connie, Larry, Steve, and Family,
The world has lost such a wonderful man with Bud's passing. He was so kind, gentle, and patient. His family and especially his great-grandchildren were everything to him. From the moment I met him, he made me feel like a member of the family. God will sustain us all in the lonely days ahead without him. Rest in peace, Bud.
Love,

Connie and family, My condolences go out to you for your loss. I worked at Maple Press in Bud's department for 10 years before he retired. Everyone loved him as our boss and loved working with him. I am still working at Maple Press, 31 years, but the days working with Bud were the good ones. I know this is a hard time to go through, but please know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
