Leon Gilbert Obituary
York - Leon A. Gilbert III, 71, died February 5, 2021, with his family by his side in York, PA. He was born on June 1, 1949 in Camp Gifu, an Army base in Nagoya, Japan to Lt. Leon A. Gilbert, Jr. and Kay M. Gilbert.
He was an Army veteran who served with Company C Infantry Division during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed traveling and was planning a trip to visit modern Vietnam.
He is survived by his daughters Tamara Fatimah Dacheux, Jennifer Rebecca Lemmon, Khadijah Bint Omar, Simone Black and DeLoni Drayden; his sisters Tondalayo Martinez and Tia Gilbert; Tanisha Scott who was his nurse and loving niece; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Kay M. Gilbert and his father, Leon A. Gilbert Jr.
The Burial was at Prospect Hill Cemetery on February 8, 2021.
