Lottie Christ Obituary

YORK Lottie M. (Rzonca) Christ, 85, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at Hershey Medical Center. She was the loving wife of John Christ to whom she was married 63 years. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with the Rev. Stanley Bilinski officiating. Viewings will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A private burial will take place at a later date. Mrs. Christ was born January 25, 1924, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of the late Jan and Michalina (Ryncarz) Rzonca. She was a 1941 graduate of Chadsey High School in Detroit, Mich. While living in Michigan, she volunteered as a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Christ was a loving mother, wife, and a great supporter of her family. She enjoyed working with ceramics, bowling, gardening, and playing the organ. She was an avid reader, reading anything she could find. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Christ is survived by a son, Ken J. Christ of Chelsea, Mich.; a daughter, Sharon E. Christ of York; a brother, Leonard J. Rzonca of North Carolina; and close family friend, Carol A. Wagner, her daughter, Tracey A. Achrem, and grandson, Hunter C. Achrem. Uncle John, Ken and Sharon,
I'm so sorry to hear of Aunt Lottie's passing. I have many fond memories of her. She was always cheerful and ready to do things or go somewhere. I remember after I got out of the Army and moved to Kalamazoo she drove over form Detroit, by herself, and surprised me with a visit.
