Michael Pentz Obituary
Dover - Michael "Watash" S. Pentz, 74, entered into rest at 8:47 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at his home. He was the loving husband of Katherine J. (Otto) Pentz. The couple celebrated 54 years of marriage on August 3, 2017.
Born September 1, 1943 in York, Michael was a son of the late Gilbert G. and Martha M. (Bequeath) Pentz. He graduated from Dover High School in 1961.
Michael was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in the Strategic Air Command during the Viet Nam War. He had 30 years of service for Consolidated Freight in York.
Michael was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and Shiloh American Legion Post 791.
In addition to his wife, Michael is survived by two children, Michael J. Pentz and life partner, Missy (Sanger) Westerhold and Monica J. Love and husband, Mark all of Dover; three grandchildren, Michael James Pentz, Wyatt D. Love and Ryan Westerhold; a brother, James E. Pentz (wife, Linda) of Spring Grove; sister, Jean Snyder (husband, Derwood) of Kentucky; numerous loving nieces and nephews; and siblings of the heart, C. Jeanne Witmer, and Gerry and Sandy Otto. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael S. Pentz, Jr.; and a sister, Kay E. Summers.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Michael's Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. and the visitation from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 950 W. Market St., York. Burial will follow in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Abbottstown where veteran's honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Celebrant will be the Rev. Daniel Richards. Emig Funeral Home, Dover, is serving his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to York County Veterans Honor Guard, P.O. Box 712, Mt. Wolf, PA 17347-0712.
