Michele C. Silverberg

YORK Michele C. (Cane) Silverberg, 62, died Sunday evening, February 1, 2009 at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Barry Silverberg with whom she celebrated a 42nd wedding anniversary this past May 21, 2008. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday at Temple Beth Israel, 2090 Hollywood Drive, York with Rabbi Jeffrey Astrachan, officiating. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in South Hill Hebrew Cemetery. Shiva service will be held Thursday evening and Saturday evening. The Geiple Funeral Home, Inc., 53 Main Street, Glen Rock is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Silverberg was born on February 8, 1946, in Los Angeles, Calif., a daughter of the late Lawrence and Billie G. (Goodstein) Cane She was member of Ohev Sholom Congregation, the Sisterhood of Ohev Sholom Congregation, and American Cancer Auxiliary. Besides her husband Barry she also leaves two daughters, Amy (Silverberg) Menache, of York and Betsy (Silverberg) Anderson and her husband Wade, of York; three grandchildren, Sivan, Tyler and Brandon; a brother Ronald W. Cane, and his wife Karen, of Cranberry, N.J.; a sisterin-law Cheri (Silverberg) Fern, and her husband Robin, of Highland, Ill.; a brother-in-law Casey Silverberg and his wife Linda, of Duxbury, Mass.; and many nieces and nephews.
