Page Edmands Obituary

Of Sudbury took his last flight on Feb. 18, 2008. Beloved husband of the late Annette B. (Bucke) Edmands. Loving father of P. Spencer Edmands, III of Sudbury and Candis Edmands Contento and her husband Steven D. Contento of Windsor, NY. Devoted grandfather of Jessica L. Contento and Christopher S. Contento both of Windsor, NY and Christina A. Edmands of Framingham. Mr. Edmands was born in Arlington on Aug. 10 1921 the son of the late Page S. Edmands, Sr. and Eva I. (Christenson) Edmands. He has been a resident of Sudbury for over 45 years. He resided in Nutley, NJ and graduated from Nutley High School where he excelled in Football and Gymnastics. He graduated from Rutgers University with a BS in Business. He served his country proudly during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps serving in the China, India and Burma Theatre. He retired after 40 years as a Reserve Officer and Lt. Colonel in the U. S. Air Force. He was a pilot and member of the HUMP Pilot Assoc. He retired after a distinguished career as a Manager in the Actuarial Department of Prudential Ins. Co. in Newark, NJ and Boston, MA. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed reading, airplanes and boating. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family at Sheep Island in Harvard. Private Memorial Services will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers his family suggests memorial gifts in his memory to the American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St, 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02110. Arrangements under the direction of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home of Wayland.

Col. Edmands,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your years of dedicated service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army Air Forces and USAFR-especially when you served during WW II in the CBI flying supplies to China over the Himalayan Mountains which was critical to keeping China in the War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.
