Raymond Davidson Obituary

Davidson JASPER, GA Mr. Raymond Eugene Davidson, 100, died Thursday, August 30, 2012, at the Grandview Healthcare Center in Jasper, Ga. Born December 28, 1911, in Connellsville, he was the son of the late Abraham Lincoln Davidson and Etta Stuhl Davidson. Mr. Davidson was an airplane pilot and also retired as a supervisor position with Sylvania. He was a member of the Tate United Methodist Church and a faithful servant of the Lord. Mr. Davidson married his elementary school sweetheart, Louise Durbin Davidson, on September 20, 1934. Survivors include his wife, Louise Davidson of Jasper; daughters, Annette Rae Brooks of Woodstock, Ga., and Coral Louise Shaul, of Shasta, Calif.; grandsons, Dan and Ed Griggs, both of Pennsylvania; and granddaughters, Marlainne Griggs of Pennsylvania, and Shawn Griggs of South Carolina. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, September 3, 2012, from the Tate United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Parker Benson officiating. At his request, Mr. Davidson will be cremated following the service. The body will remain at Roper Funeral Home where the family will receive from 2 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 2, 2012. The body will lie in state from 1 to 2 p.m. at Tate United Methodist Church on Monday prior to the service. Arrangements and services entrusted to Roper Funeral Home & Crematory of Jasper, Ga. So sorry to hear about Ray.I worked with him at Sylvania a long time ago.He was one of my favorite bosses to work with in the glassing department.My prayers go out to the family.
