Robert Eugene Greiss, 84, passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Jane (Markle) Greiss for 62 years.
Born August 25, 1931, he was the son of the late Nathan and Elsie (Laubach) Greiss. He graduated from William Penn Senior High School in 1949 and later received an Associate Degree in Business from York College.
After serving his country in the US Navy, he later was employed by CPC International as a district sales manager in the York-Philadelphia area for 31 years.
Bob was a longtime active member of Christ Lutheran Church and served on many of the Sunday School and church committees. He volunteered at York Hospital for 13 years as a mail carrier and was a member of the Red Lion Country Club, and was an active member of the York Jaycees in his younger years. He enjoyed his trips with his wife to their Florida condo for many years, golfing with his buddies, and the weekly "gab" sessions at the bagel shop with his friends. He was a great family man and loved being with his grandchildren. Bob especially enjoyed watching their various athletic events.
In addition to his wife Jane, Bob is survived by his daughter, Susan and her husband Douglas Rhoads of Landisville; son, Stephen and his wife Malia of Franklin, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Gordon and William Greiss.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Christ Lutheran Church, 29 S. George St., York, with his Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Alan J. Watt, officiating. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. at the Church. Kuhner Associates Funeral Directors, Inc., 863 S. George St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
