Ruth Stitely Obituary

Ruth M. (McAllister) Stitely, 79, died on Sunday, January 18, 2004 at Memorial Hospital. She was the loving wife of R. Dean Stitely, to whom she was married for 51 years. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Home, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. The Rev. W. Arthur Grahe will officiate the service. There will be a public visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Stitely was born on February 24, 1924 in Cross Roads Borough, a daughter of the late S.G. Bert and Edith (Hyson) McAllister. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter's Lischey's United Church of Christ in Spring Grove. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stitely is survived by one daughter, Crystal S. and her husband Brian Kottcamp of York; three brothers, Harold R. McAllister of York, John G. McAllister of Lancaster, and Roy T. McAllister of Thomasville; three sisters, Cora M. Reinecke of Dallastown, Jean M. Doll and Lois M. Zellers, both of York. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stitely was preceded in death by one sister, Elizabeth Rehmyer. Memorial contributions may be made to York Cancer Patient Relief Fund, York Cancer Center, 25 Monument Road, Suite 194, York, PA 17403.
